The Anoka Housing and Redevelopment Department coordinates the cities efforts to preserve existing neighborhoods as well as the redevelopment of substandard or blighted areas of the City of Anoka to the highest and best use and the promotion of new housing development. This process often requires interaction with state and regional government entities as well as contracts with private consultants and developers.

The mission of the Anoka Housing and Redevelopment Authority is to provide programs and policy direction to facilitate a quality living conditions for all residents through the revitalization and redevelopment of housing, the central business district and older commercial areas in the City.
