Anoka Municipal Utility (AMU) customers who choose to participate in the Round up for Change program also choose to make a difference in the lives of individuals and families in need within our community.
AMU participating customers "round-up" their monthly utility bill to the next highest dollar. For example, if an AMU utility bill is $42.79, it is rounded up to $43. The additional $0.21 goes to the Round up for Change program. The average contribution from each participating utility customer is about $0.50 a month. Although this contribution is not tax deductible, the most a customer can contribute annually is $11.88.
Voluntary round up contributions provide financial assistance to worth-while activities, organizations and community projects that improve the lives of families, children and seniors right here in our community. Over the past three years, AMU Utility customers participating in the Round Up program have given more than $100,000 to local charitable organizations such as ACBC Food Shelf in Anoka, Cross and CEAP Food Shelves in Champlin and Youth First Community of Promise.
